Transportation Projects

	The primary goal was to bring this principal rural and urban arterial roadway to the current FDOT resurfacing, restoration and rehabilitation (RRR) and safety standards. Conditions of this project included the deterioration of pavement asphalt and markings. There were also drainage issues in terms of efficiency of pipes and structures. One critical concern was the absence of slope on the existing grade, which required overbuilding in order to have proper longitudinal slope per 3R criteria. In addition, sidewalks, and curbs in urban section of project were all below FDOT standards and curb cut ramps did not meet ADA guidelines. This project was located within a school zone, which required intimate communication and coordination with school board and county officials. Services provided included milling & resurfacing, correcting cross slopes, replacing non-functional side drains, drainage structures & pipes, pavement design with Superpave Asphaltic Concrete, traffic control plans, no passing zone study, signing and pavement marking, construction of curb cut ramps per ADA Standards in the urban section of project, sidewalk repair, coordination with utility companies, construction cost estimates, and specifications.
