CSI is seeking to hire a Senior Bridge Engineer in our Jacksonville, FL office. This individual will serve as the Lead Engineer and/or Engineer of Record (EOR) responsible for the analysis, design, and detailing of highway and pedestrian bridges, and other transportation structures.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Florida (or ability to obtain via reciprocity) required.
Experience: 10-15 years of professional bridge design experience.
Specialized Knowledge: Proven experience with bridge inspection, rating, and rehabilitation projects.
Software: Proficiency with FDOT structural design software (e.g., FB-MultiPier, LEAP Bridge, Mathcad).
Codes: Strong familiarity with AASHTO LRFD specifications and FDOT Design Manual (FDM) criteria and procedures.
Skills: Possess advanced structural analytical skills, strong technical writing skills, and a collaborative mindset.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Design: Lead the complex structural analysis, design, and modeling of bridge elements and highway structures.
Quality Control: Perform independent design checks, plan reviews, and ensure compliance with FDOT and AASHTO standards.
Mentorship: Direct and mentor junior engineers and CAD technicians assigned to the project production team.
Project Delivery: Manage the production of engineering plans, structural calculations, special provisions, and cost estimates.
Proposal Support: Assist the Department Manager with technical input for project pursuits, scopes of work, and man-hour estimates.

CSI is seeking to hire a Senior Roadway Engineer in our Jacksonville, FL office. In this role, you will lead the planning, geometric design, and production of construction plans for Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) districts and local municipalities. As the Engineer of Record, you will sign and seal design packages, manage project budgets, and navigate the FDOT review process. This position requires deep familiarity with Florida’s specific design criteria, manuals, and electronic delivery guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an ABET-accredited institution.
Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Experience: 10-15 years of transportation engineering experience, with a heavy focus on FDOT design.
FDOT Core Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the FDOT Design Manual (FDM), FDOT Standard Plans, and FDOT Materials and Standard
Target Criteria: Expert-level knowledge of AASHTO, Florida Greenbook, and ADA design compliance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
FDOT Plan Production: Lead the development of comprehensive Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) packages strictly matching FDOT layout standards.
Geometric & Corridor Modeling: Build complex 3D corridor models for highway alignments, intersections, roundabouts, and complete streets initiatives.
FDOT Delivery Process: Guide projects smoothly through formal FDOT phase reviews (Phase I, II, III, and IV submittals).
ERC System Management: Review, track, and clear agency comments using the FDOT Electronic Review Comments (ERC) system.
Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous peer reviews and QA/QC checks to ensure full compliance with Florida design criteria.
Team Mentorship: Teach and guide junior engineers in 3D modeling workflows and Florida-specific design policies.
Interdisciplinary Coordination: Partner with drainage, traffic ops, structures, and environmental teams to resolve design conflicts.

CSI is seeking to hire a Drainage Engineer in our Jacksonville, FL office. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and managing stormwater and wastewater systems to prevent flooding, control water runoff, and ensure environmental compliance. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams of civil engineers, urban planners, and environmental specialists on both municipal infrastructure and private development projects
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly preferred.
Experience: 10-15 years of progressive experience in civil drainage design or water resource management.
CAD Software Skills: High proficiency in computer-aided design tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
H&H Software Skills: Hands-on experience with modeling software such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ICPR, SWMM, or HY-8.
Knowledge Base: Solid understanding of civil engineering principles, erosion control methods, and local stormwater management manuals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design Drainage Systems: Create detailed blueprints and engineering plans for storm sewers, culverts, retention/detention basins, and open channel systems.
Hydrologic & Hydraulic Modeling: Perform H&H analysis using industry-standard software to simulate water flow and watershed characteristics.
Site Assessments: Conduct field investigations, analyze topographical data, and evaluate soil mechanics or flood risks.
Regulatory Compliance: Prepare permit application packages and ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal environmental and water-quality regulations.
Cross-Discipline Collaboration: Coordinate utility layouts and integrate drainage plans with roadway, structural, and grading design teams.
Project Documentation: Draft technical engineering reports, calculate material quantities, and provide accurate project cost estimates.
Construction Support: Review contractor shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and perform occasional site visits to monitor installation quality.
