CSI was selected to provide Project Development & Engineering (PD&E) and design services for the replacement of the structurally deficient Bridge No. 740069 on County Road 200A (Paige Dairy Road) over Lofton Creek in Yulee, Nassau County, Florida.

The deteriorating structure was replaced with a new 150-foot bridge utilizing 15-inch Florida Slab Beams (FSB) supported on 18-inch square prestressed concrete pile bents. Roadway approaches were widened to match the improved bridge cross-section, enhancing both safety and long-term traffic capacity.

Single-Point Project Management

CSI served as the lead consultant and single point of contact for FDOT throughout both the PD&E and design phases, coordinating all in-house disciplines and subconsultant teams to ensure seamless project delivery.

Permitting & Regulatory Coordination

The project required multi-agency environmental permitting, including approvals from:

  • St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD)

  • Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP)

  • U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE)

  • Nassau County

Utility & Real Estate Services

CSI managed real estate acquisition and coordinated the design of a relocated water line along the north side of the bridge through close collaboration with JEA and FDOT — minimizing utility conflicts and keeping the project on schedule.

Corridor Coordination

The bridge replacement was strategically coordinated with a concurrent Paige Dairy Road milling, resurfacing, and widening project, delivering greater value and reduced community disruption through combined corridor improvements.
